LBJ’s Mom’s House
Interior Design

This timeless treasure constructed of native stone from a nearby quarry, was built in 1882-83 by Irish craftsman Laurence H. Wall for a total cost of $1000. John Wilson Baines and his wife Ruth Ament Huffman (later grandparents of Lyndon Baines Johnson) purchased the home in 1887 and named it Amenthal. The home sits on the banks of the Blanco River and it’s Zen design is meant to relax you the second you walk through the original 1880s front door. The colors are muted tones of greens and creams with warmth provided by the pieces made from local Texas Pecan. Its upper porch is the perfect place to catch the stunning sunsets of the Texas Hill Country with your loved ones and a glass of wine.

The whole experience working with J.Fisher Interiors was excellent. My home looks amazing and there was a nice balance between brand new pieces and the vintage treasures that Jen was able to find. Unlike past experiences with designers, where my budget was ignored, she took great care in working within the budget and delivering a stunning space that I enjoy living in and get tons of compliments on…
