LBJ’s Mom’s House
Interior Design

This timeless treasure constructed of native stone from a nearby quarry, was built in 1882-83 by Irish craftsman Laurence H. Wall for a total cost of $1000. John Wilson Baines and his wife Ruth Ament Huffman (later grandparents of Lyndon Baines Johnson) purchased the home in 1887 and named it Amenthal. The home sits on the banks of the Blanco River and it’s Zen design is meant to relax you the second you walk through the original 1880s front door. The colors are muted tones of greens and creams with warmth provided by the pieces made from local Texas Pecan. Its upper porch is the perfect place to catch the stunning sunsets of the Texas Hill Country with your loved ones and a glass of wine.

Testimonials

As a recent divorcee, I rented a condo in a rush and it was a mess -- dark with an odd mixture of colors and styles. Jennifer worked quickly to completely transform the space using cost-effective options that made sense given that I might only be in the unit for one year. In addition to designing the space, she also served as a project manager for the work. She is very dedicated, works quickly and efficiently, and has a very professional and pleasant demeanor. She has a definite style and sensibility but also adapts well to her clients' tastes. I couldn't be happier with the result.
